The year is 1553, and Ireland is under attack. The English have instigated a policy of “Submit and Regrant: wherein all Irish are required to relinquish their land and succumb to English rule. It is a difficult time for the Irish and many believe that defeat is eminent. When our heroin, Grace O’Mally, first stepped onto a ship at the tender age of 16, she had no idea she would become the leader of a rebellion. Six years later Grace is the Captain of a small fleet, the mother of two young boys, and a loving wife. She is forced into action when her husband is killed in battle. A simple business trip to England to clear up the matter of her due inheritance takes a terrible turn and Grace losses everything. Everything but her ship, her pride, and thousands of Irish waiting to follow her, the Pirate Queen, into battle.
